Jim FelletJim

President and Co-founder of Fellet Landscaping

Jim and his father Louie started the company in 1965 when he was in High School at Bear Creek. Jim has lived in the Denver area since he was five. He is married, a father of four, step-father of one, and grandfather of eleven.

Jim learned the landscape business from the bottom up, doing every job required in the business, marketing, bidding, sales, installation, repairs and invoicing. He eventually became a landscape architect.

During the time Jim and his father were starting and developing the company Jim also worked as a police officer.

In its early years, Fellet Landscaping was one of the only sports field landscaping companies in Denver. Consequently, Jim and his father worked for the Denver Broncos, Coors, Evergreen Parks & Recreation, installed the original golf course at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, just to name a few.

A lot of Jim’s spare time has been spent devoted to the Boy Scouts of America as a Scoutmaster and Board member to the Denver Area Council’s High Adventure Camp. Jim has counseled 29 young men to earn the rank of Eagle Scout during his 16 plus years as a Scoutmaster. He continues to assist with the High Adventure Camp.

Barb FelletBarb

Secretary/Treasurer of Fellet Landscaping

Barb was born and raised in Colorado, attended Bear Creek High School and University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Married to Jim, Barb is a mother of one, step-mother of four and step-“grammie” of eleven!

She is learning the landscape business after spending 25 years as a geologic technician, lease analyst and office manager in the oil & gas industry. Her attention to detail and ability with numbers and computers has made her the person to handle the company’s invoicing, accounts payable, payroll and taxes.

In her spare time she has spent about 20 years with the Boy Scouts of America in many different volunteer positions including currently as a Board member to the Denver Area Council’s High Adventure Camp. You can also find her at Bible Study, the sewing machine, in the garden or with the Grandchildren.

Mike FelletMike

Vice President of Fellet Landscaping

Mike was born and has lived in Colorado all of his life. Mike married in 2005 and became a father of twins in 2009.

Mike started working in the landscape industry at a young age alongside his father. Learning the business from his dad Jim, doing every job asked of him. As a child, Mike spent a lot of time with Fellet Landscaping before he started working with the company. Mike learned from his experiences at a young age and now is the vice president of the company.

Mike’s attention to detail and insistence on doing things “right the first time” come from his background in Scouting and his dedication to earning his Eagle rank. It is also a huge asset to the company bringing new ideas.

Mike is taking continuing education within the business and landscape industry and training our employees for a better tomorrow. He has implemented a program so his employees can have the same benefits.

Mike is an artist and enjoys installing water features. In his spare time you can find him using that talent making custom wood furniture.

Fellet Landscaping and Sprinkler Company, Inc. was founded in 1965 by Louie Fellet and Jim Fellet when Jim was in Bear Creek High School. Louie, a WWll Army Veteran lost both his legs below the knee while rescuing another soldier from a mine field. Being on prosthesis never stopped him. He could be found putting in systems, teaching employees, and laying sod. Jim finished high school, went to college to get his Landscape Architect degree and served as a police officer all while working the landscaping business with his father.
Through his police work Jim became involved with the DARE program and Scouting. As a Scout Master he counseled 29 young men to the rank of Eagle Scout, 2 of which were our sons.
When the company started they were one of the only companies in the area who did sports fields. As a result of that experience, they worked 17 years for the Broncos at Mile High Stadium and at the Bronco’s practice fields. They also installed the first sprinkler system and golf course at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs and spent many years working for Coors.
A third generation of Fellet men joined the company officially in 1997. Mike, Jim’s youngest son, has worked in almost every capacity in the field and in the last 4-5 years has tackled some of the marketing and computer tasks in the office, even learning some of the accounting system. However, he has excelled as the creative force behind the installations, especially hardscape walls, patios, walkways, and water features. Through a combination of outstanding leadership, experienced employees, and a clear vision for the future, Fellet Landscaping and Sprinkler Company Inc. has been able to provide clients with the top-quality service and work they expect.
We strive to live up to the values Louie brought to the family business “my word is my bond”, and then Jim reinforced these values from his work as a police officer, and Mike, an Eagle Scout, has added some of his own to the mix. We cannot do business on a handshake anymore as Louie used to do, but that was how he founded the company and that is the type of people we are.
We have extensive training and background in every facet of your landscape and irrigation needs. We maintain a close rapport with all the leading organizations in the industry and we are constantly updating our training.
